Axel's take: 8.2/10

Strong breakfast and helpful staff make this a good base, but not a quiet one. a practical mid-range business hotel in northern Bogotá, scored for what it is.

Andes Plaza is a practical mid-range business hotel in Chicó Norte, now part of EM Hotels. It’s a strong pick for northern Bogotá appointments or a straightforward city stay. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, thorough housekeeping and generous breakfast buffet. Free parking, a gym and on-site restaurants add useful substance rather than luxury gloss.

The main compromise is sleep: guests across several sites report traffic and nearby nightlife penetrating poorly sealed windows. Room condition also varies, with some dated bathrooms and maintenance complaints despite generally positive comfort ratings. Request a quieter room and confirm the specific category rather than assuming every room matches the smartest photos. Expedia lists the spa as closed; verify before counting on it. We’d skip this if quiet nights are your priority.

• Best for: business travelers in northern Bogotá; visitors attending nearby medical appointments; travelers who prioritize breakfast and service

• Watch out for: traffic and nightlife noise; uneven room condition; spa listed as closed on Expedia

• Location: Chicó Norte base near businesses and Barraquer Clinic, rather than a historic-center location.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable, but maintenance and décor vary; request a quieter room with properly closing windows.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings and repeated housekeeping praise outweigh scattered reports of lapses.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across recent Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews.

• Amenities: Breakfast buffet, restaurants, gym, free Wi-Fi and free parking; confirm spa availability.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; early check-in and late checkout may incur charges.
