Hotels in Barcelonaa space-themed 4-star directly above Barcelona Sants station
8.4/10
A comfortable, train-friendly base, with station construction the main catch.
Barceló Sants is a space-themed 4-star above Barcelona’s main railway station, and it’s a strong pick when easy connections matter more than old-town atmosphere. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and the varied breakfast buffet. Several also report surprisingly quiet nights despite the transport hub below. The futuristic styling gives this practical business hotel some personality without making it a luxury stay.
The main catch is ongoing construction at Sants station and Plaça dels Països Catalans, with pedestrian diversions around the approaches. Recent Tripadvisor reviews also flag occasional air-conditioning and maintenance failures, although the broader feedback remains strongly positive. Breakfast and parking can cost extra. We’d choose it for rail journeys or business trips; skip it if you want historic Barcelona on your doorstep.

Location: Excellent rail and metro access above Sants; less suited to an old-town-focused stay.
Rooms: Comfortable, futuristic rooms; quiet nights earn praise, but some guests report maintenance faults.
Cleanliness: Strong recent feedback overall, with occasional housekeeping lapses rather than a widespread pattern.
Service: Usually helpful and welcoming; problem resolution receives more mixed feedback.

Fees and surprises: City tourist tax applies; parking and some breakfast plans cost extra; surrounding construction affects approaches.
