#5 of 9 hotels in Swatara by Axel's take. Swatara is #4 of 8 places to stay in Harrisburg. The best hotels in Swatara, ranked · Where to stay in Harrisburg

Axel's take: 7.8/10

A comfortable roadside base with more style than the basics, but some operational unevenness. a design-minded 3-star IHG hotel near the interstate and airport, scored for what it is.

This is a design-minded 3-star IHG hotel, not a Hershey resort or downtown Harrisburg address. We'd pick it for a comfortable, practical stop with more personality than a standard roadside hotel. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff; Booking.com guests also highlight the helpful team and convenient road access. Free parking, a restaurant and bar, and a gym round out a useful package for drivers.

The execution is less consistent than the styling. Tripadvisor feedback is more mixed, including complaints about breakfast and delayed incidental-deposit refunds. Breakfast usually costs extra, and the outdoor pool is summer-only: IHG lists Memorial Day through Labor Day, with no indoor pool. Confirm shuttle arrangements directly because IHG's pages contradict themselves. We'd skip it for a walkable city break or a winter swimming stay.

Best for: road-trippers and short business stays; Hershey visitors with a car; travelers bringing dogs
Watch out for: breakfast usually costs extra; summer-only outdoor pool; no indoor pool; confirm shuttle service and deposit-release terms
Location: Convenient interstate and airport access; better suited to driving than a downtown walking itinerary.
Rooms: Modern styling, comfortable beds and good showers draw praise; occasional maintenance complaints remain.
Cleanliness: Recent Expedia feedback is strongly positive overall, despite some contrary Tripadvisor reports.
Service: Friendly staff are a recurring strength, but billing follow-up and problem handling receive mixed feedback.
Amenities: Restaurant, bar, 24-hour gym and seasonal outdoor pool; IHG lists the pool season as Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Fees and surprises: Free self-parking; breakfast and dog fees generally extra, with a refundable incidental deposit also required.
