St. Pete Beach’s main Gulf Boulevard stretch suits a beach holiday with restaurants and beach bars close at hand. Farther south, Pass-a-Grille changes the mood: its compact Eighth Avenue, small shops and shoreline walks make a convincing couples’ escape. Choose between the two deliberately rather than assuming their evenings and transport are interchangeable.
- Best for
- couplesa quiet stayluxury travelers
- Skip it if
- You need frequent car-free trips from Pass-a-Grille; Your itinerary mostly concerns Tampa
- Getting around
- Walk within your immediate beach district; SunRunner links the main St. Pete Beach access with downtown St. Petersburg, not Pass-a-Grille. From TPA or PIE, use a car or rideshare.
- After dark
- The main beach has bars and live music; Pass-a-Grille is more about sunset and dinner than a late-night circuit.
