8.6/10
A strong beach base with useful kitchens, two pools and a few service compromises.
St Pete Beach Suites is a small, motel-style suite hotel, not a full-service beachfront resort. It's a strong pick for a relaxed beach trip: Upham Beach and restaurants are within easy walking distance, most suites have kitchenettes, and two pools, loaner beach gear and included parking make the setup practical. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness and helpful staff, including Expedia stays from September 2026. We'd choose it for convenience and self-catering rather than polished interiors.
The compromises are compact bathrooms in some studios, uneven room condition and limited in-person assistance. Recent guests on both Tripadvisor and Expedia describe difficulty finding staff or getting check-in instructions; some also report intrusive neighboring-room noise. Confirm your arrival arrangements and the resort fee before booking. We'd skip it if you need dependable front-desk attention or especially quiet nights.

Best for: Self-catering beach breaks; Families wanting pools and beach gear; Travelers comfortable with self-service check-in
Watch out for: Limited onsite staff and occasional check-in friction; Very small bathrooms in some studios; Neighboring-room noise reported by some guests
Location: Short walk to Upham Beach and restaurants; near the beach rather than directly beachfront.
Rooms: Most suites have kitchenettes; guests generally find them comfortable, but some bathrooms are cramped and finishes vary.
Cleanliness: Strong overall praise, including recent Expedia stays; Booking.com's cleanliness rating is positive but less emphatic.
Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise, but limited availability and check-in communication recur as drawbacks.
Amenities: Two outdoor pools, one heated according to the hotel, plus complimentary bikes, beach equipment and poolside games.
Fees and surprises: Resort fee applies; official and Booking.com fee schedules differ, so confirm terms. Standard parking is included; pets and extra parking cost more.
