Brickell is polished, vertical Miami: office towers, residential high-rises and restaurant plans rather than pastel beachfront streets. South Miami Avenue and Mary Brickell Village supply much of the evening activity, while Brickell City Centre makes shopping an easy part of the day. Metrorail and Metromover give it unusually useful connections for Miami.
- Best for
- food loversbusiness trips and conventionstravelers without a carshopping
- Skip it if
- Daily beach access is the main purpose of your trip; You want quiet, low-rise streets
- Getting around
- Walk the dining and shopping streets; Brickell station has Metrorail and Metromover; MIA normally has direct Orange Line service weekdays before 8 p.m., with an Earlington Heights change otherwise—check current airport alerts; FLL requires road travel or shuttle–rail connections.
- After dark
- South Miami Avenue and Mary Brickell Village stay restaurant-and-bar focused into the evening; this is not a financial district that simply shuts at five.
