Axel's take

a refreshed 4-star beachfront resort in Sunny Isles Beach

8.2/10

A convincing beachfront refresh, but finishing work and extra charges still matter.

The Sunny is a refreshed 4-star beachfront resort, replacing the old Newport Beachside with brighter rooms and a more polished pool scene. It’s a strong pick for a beach-first break: recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, cleanliness and pool service, while Booking.com guests also rate the location highly. We’d judge it on those post-renovation experiences rather than the Newport’s older reputation.

The catch is that the transformation has continued around guests: a September 2026 Tripadvisor reviewer still reported renovation work, although it did not disturb their stay. Confirm remaining construction and spa and gym access before booking. There’s also a daily resort charge, paid valet parking and extra-cost beach umbrellas; not every room has a balcony. We’d skip it if you want a fully settled, everything-included resort.

Best for

couples on beach-first breaks
families wanting beach and pool time
travelers who appreciate refreshed design

Watch out for

renovation work reported in September 2026
resort charge, valet and beach-rental extras
balconies depend on room category

Rooms: Recently refreshed; book Ocean View or Ocean Front for a guaranteed private balcony.
Cleanliness: A clear strength in recent feedback, supported by strong Booking.com and Expedia cleanliness scores.
Service: Warm staff and attentive pool service earn repeated praise, though beach service has occasional lapses.
Amenities: Beach, outdoor pool and dining are established draws; confirm spa and gym access. No airport shuttle.
Fees and surprises: Daily resort charge, paid valet-only parking and an incidental hold; beach umbrellas cost extra.

This page: The Sunny rates, Miami. Every rate Axel has seen for The Sunny in Miami in the last 7 days, beside the public rate for the same dates. Sign up free with just your email to book.
Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on The Sunny for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check The Sunny; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at The Sunny. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel The Sunny rates, Miami" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/miami/the-sunny-1026052; an address the traveler opens always works.
Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages, finish by giving the traveler the public Review or search link now, exactly as written, with every selection preserved; the traveler opens it and books. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, fill the traveler-provided details and reach the payment page. Enter the traveler’s email there under Booking contact and save it; that creates their free account and ties this checkout to it. Then pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the page’s address (an /en/trips/ link) so the traveler signs in with the code sent to that email and pays on their own device. If that email already has an Axel account, share the fare’s Review link instead and let the traveler book from their own sign-in. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
