South Beach is the easiest answer when you want the Miami Beach postcard without organizing every day around rides. Ocean Drive supplies Art Deco architecture, Lummus Park the sand, and Lincoln Road and Española Way places to wander between meals. The LGBTQ beach-and-bar scene is another reason to stay.
The catch is noise, crowds and mainland journeys that depend on causeway traffic. Visitors describe South of Fifth as more residential than the main Ocean Drive party blocks. Choose South Beach for a first beach-led visit; skip it if your plans revolve around mainland attractions or reliably quiet nights.
