#6 of 8 hotels in North Monroe & I-10 by Axel's take. North Monroe & I-10 is #5 of 5 places to stay in Tallahassee. The best hotels in North Monroe & I-10, ranked · Where to stay in Tallahassee
Axel's take: 5.3/10
Recent improvements make this a possibility, but inconsistent basics keep it hard to recommend. A basic 2-star roadside motel, now Motel 6 Tallahassee–North Monroe, scored for what it is.
La Casa now operates as Motel 6 Tallahassee–North Monroe, a basic roadside motel rather than a full-service 3-star hotel. Its strongest arguments are convenient highway access, free parking and Wi-Fi. Recent Expedia guests describe clean rooms, refreshed bathrooms and helpful staff, suggesting some improvement over its particularly poor older reputation. Still, an overall Expedia rating of 5.2/10 leaves it below what we'd expect even for a budget stopover.
The problem is consistency: Booking.com reviews reproduced by Planet of Hotels include 2026 complaints about cockroaches, inadequate cleaning and malfunctioning equipment, alongside those better experiences elsewhere. Google reviews also flag unreliable hot water. Don't book around the old pool or breakfast listings; neither is confirmed by the current brand page. We'd consider it only for a short, budget-driven stop after checking the room, and skip it for a family vacation.
-
Best for: Budget-driven overnight stops; Drivers prioritizing highway access
-

-

-
Service: Recent Expedia guests frequently praise helpful staff, though experiences vary.
-
Amenities: Current brand page confirms Wi-Fi, coffee and coin laundry; Expedia lists free parking.
-
Fees and surprises: A deposit is listed; Expedia also lists pet charges, so confirm the applicable policy before booking.
