#3 of 9 hotels in Downtown & the Capitol by Axel's take. Downtown & the Capitol is #2 of 5 places to stay in Tallahassee. The best hotels in Downtown & the Capitol, ranked · Where to stay in Tallahassee

Axel's take: 7.8/10

Friendly staff and comfortable rooms make this a useful, if aging, Capitol-area base. a practical 3-star near downtown and the Capitol, scored for what it is.

This 3-star Courtyard is a sensible base for Capitol business and university visits, rather than a hotel worth planning a trip around. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise friendly staff, comfortable beds and convenient access around town. Rooms generally deliver the space and comfort expected at this level, while the outdoor pool, gym and Bistro make short stays straightforward. We'd pick it for practicality over polish.

The trade-offs are an aging property and uneven housekeeping: recent reviews mix strong cleanliness praise with missed bathroom details and inconsistent servicing. Marriott specifies every-other-day housekeeping, and neither breakfast nor parking is free. One June 2026 Expedia guest reported construction; whether work continues is unconfirmed, so check before booking. We'd skip it if fresh interiors, daily cleaning or an included breakfast are priorities.

  • Best for: Capitol business trips; University visitors with a car; Short, practical stays

  • Watch out for: Dated areas and uneven housekeeping; Breakfast and parking cost extra; June 2026 construction report; current status unconfirmed

  • Location: Useful Apalachee Parkway base for downtown, the Capitol and university visits.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds and generally good space; several guests say areas need updating.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly positive feedback, with recurring misses in bathroom cleaning and room servicing.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across Booking.com and Expedia.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, 24-hour gym, Bistro and guest laundry; no airport shuttle.

  • Fees and surprises: Paid parking and breakfast; pet fees apply, housekeeping is every other day, and ongoing construction is unconfirmed.
