7.6/10
A practical, refreshed base with helpful staff, but room comfort still varies.
This is a practical 3-star Hilton Garden Inn, better suited to driving around Tallahassee than exploring on foot. Its 2026 renovation makes older complaints about worn interiors less representative, and recent Expedia guests frequently praise clean rooms and helpful staff. Free parking, an on-site restaurant and short drives to downtown, FSU and FAMU make it a good option for business trips and university visits.
The refresh hasn't made comfort completely consistent. Recent Tripadvisor guests report cooling and humidity problems, while mattress complaints appear on more than one site. Those concerns sit alongside plenty of positive stays, rather than defining everyone's experience. Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking, and pets carry a fee. We'd consider it for a straightforward stay with a car; we'd skip it if reliable cooling or a walkable downtown setting is your priority.

Best for: business travelers with a car; FSU and FAMU visitors; short stays near shopping
Watch out for: uneven cooling and room comfort; breakfast usually costs extra; car needed for most sightseeing
Location: Near Governor’s Square Mall; downtown and the universities are short drives away.
Rooms: Renovated in 2026, though recent guests still flag some mattresses and cooling issues.
Cleanliness: Recent feedback is mostly positive, with some Tripadvisor reports of odors and humidity.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent strength across guest-review sites.
Amenities: Outdoor pool, fitness center, restaurant, free Wi-Fi and in-room refrigerators and microwaves.
Fees and surprises: Parking is free; breakfast is generally extra, and a nonrefundable pet fee applies.
