#3 of 6 hotels in FSU & Collegetown by Axel's take. FSU & Collegetown is #1 of 5 places to stay in Tallahassee. The best hotels in FSU & Collegetown, ranked · Where to stay in Tallahassee

Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong campus base with friendly staff, but nighttime noise is the catch. A select-service Hampton near FSU and FAMU, scored for what it is.

This select-service Hampton is a strong pick for campus visits and downtown events, rather than a hotel to linger in. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff, while Booking.com’s overall ratings reinforce the positive picture. Restaurants and the civic center are walkable, and both FSU and FAMU are nearby. Included hot breakfast, an outdoor pool and a gym cover the practical basics well.

The main compromise is sleep: Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests mention nighttime traffic, music and other outside noise. Parking also carries a daily charge, which takes some shine off the value. A few recent reviews flag untidy common areas or missed housekeeping, though room cleanliness is generally a strength. We'd choose it for convenience and friendly service; light sleepers seeking a quiet retreat should look elsewhere.

Best for: FSU and FAMU visitors; Civic center eventgoers; Short downtown stays
Watch out for: Nighttime traffic and music noise; Daily parking charge; Occasional housekeeping lapses
Location: Walkable dining and civic center access, with FSU and FAMU nearby.
Rooms: Generally comfortable, with microwaves and refrigerators; outside noise can intrude.
Cleanliness: Room cleanliness draws strong praise; a few recent guests flag neglected common areas.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across guest reviews.
Amenities: Included hot breakfast and Wi-Fi, outdoor pool and gym; no airport shuttle.
Fees and surprises: Self-parking costs extra; pet fees apply, and Hilton’s policy excludes cats.
