#6 of 6 hotels in FSU & Collegetown by Axel's take. FSU & Collegetown is #1 of 5 places to stay in Tallahassee. The best hotels in FSU & Collegetown, ranked · Where to stay in Tallahassee

Axel's take: 5.9/10

Handy for FSU, but uneven housekeeping and upkeep make this a cautious budget choice. a basic 2-star motel near Florida State University, scored for what it is.

This is a basic 2-star motel near Florida State University, and we'd consider it only for a short, budget-first campus visit. Location and friendly staff are its strongest arguments: recent Expedia guests praise walking access to FSU, comfortable beds and clean rooms. Free parking, continental breakfast and an outdoor pool cover the essentials. Booking.com's stronger guest rating also suggests the poor historical reputation isn't everyone's current experience.

Still, this isn't a dependable budget pick. Expedia's overall rating remains weak, while Google-linked reviews and 2026 guest accounts on Trip.com describe uneven cleaning, musty smells and maintenance faults. Other recent guests report perfectly acceptable stays, so room consistency is the concern rather than universal failure. Breakfast is basic, there's no elevator, and a refundable damage deposit applies. We'd skip it if reliable housekeeping or step-free access matters more than campus convenience.

Best for: budget-first FSU visitors; short stays with modest expectations
Watch out for: inconsistent cleaning and maintenance; basic continental breakfast; no elevator
Location: Convenient for walking to FSU and nearby casual restaurants.
Rooms: Some recent guests praise comfortable beds; others report mustiness and faulty fixtures.
Cleanliness: Recent reports range from very clean rooms to dirty bathrooms and floors.
Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff earn praise across several sites.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast, parking and an outdoor—not indoor—pool.
Fees and surprises: Refundable damage deposit and pet charges apply; event parking is limited to one space per room.
