#1 of 9 hotels in Downtown & the Capitol by Axel's take. Downtown & the Capitol is #2 of 5 places to stay in Tallahassee. The best hotels in Downtown & the Capitol, ranked · Where to stay in Tallahassee

Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong park-side pick, especially for friendly service and rooftop drinks. a modern, upscale 3-star beside Cascades Park, scored for what it is.

This modern, upscale 3-star beside Cascades Park is a strong choice for Capitol business and downtown weekends. Its biggest advantage is the setting: park paths outside, downtown within walking distance, and Charlie Park rooftop dining upstairs. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and welcoming staff; Tripadvisor reviewers are particularly enthusiastic about the front desk and valet team. We'd choose it for a polished, convenient stay rather than full-service luxury.

The trade-offs are paid parking, breakfast that costs extra, and occasional housekeeping lapses. Some guests also report intrusive noise, although others describe quiet stays, so light sleepers should request a quieter room. We'd skip it if free parking and an included breakfast matter more than the park-side location and on-site dining.

  • Best for: Capitol business travelers; Couples on downtown weekends; Visitors who enjoy park walks

  • Watch out for: Self-parking and valet cost extra; Breakfast is not complimentary; Some noise and housekeeping complaints

  • Location: Beside Cascades Park, with the Capitol and downtown within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Modern, streamlined rooms earn strong comfort ratings; some guests report noise.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings, with occasional bedding and housekeeping complaints.

  • Service: Friendly front-desk and valet staff are the most consistent guest-review highlight.

  • Amenities: Charlie Park rooftop dining, lounge and patio, breakfast restaurant, and fitness center.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast cost extra; dogs are welcome with a nightly pet fee.
