Scandic Anglais is a central 4-star chain hotel opposite Humlegården, strongest as a base for shopping, restaurants and exploring Stockholm. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the breakfast and helpful staff; recent guests also like the newly renovated rooms. We'd consider it for a city break spent mostly out, rather than a hotel-focused stay.

The substantial renovation is the catch, with weekday daytime noise and work planned through summer 2027. As of October 2026, Scandic lists the bar closed until October 30, the gym and sauna until November 30, and the restaurant until March 2027. Breakfast remains listed separately.
