#1 of 9 hotels in Vasastan by Axel's take. Vasastan is #5 of 8 places to stay in Stockholm. The best hotels in Vasastan, ranked · Where to stay in Stockholm

Axel's take: 9.5/10

Exceptional townhouse luxury for travelers who prefer personal warmth to grand-hotel formality. an intimate 5-star townhouse hotel in residential Östermalm, scored for what it is.

Ett Hem is an intimate 5-star townhouse hotel that makes its residential setting part of the appeal. We'd pick it for a Stockholm stay where the hotel itself matters: richly layered interiors, inviting living rooms, garden spaces and unusually personal hospitality. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff, comfortable beds and excellent cooking; their enthusiasm is backed by exceptionally strong overall ratings.

The trade-offs are mostly about fit. You're outside the main sightseeing core, and the smallest rooms are compact for this level of luxury, so choose your category carefully. The atmosphere is relaxed and domestic rather than ceremonious, with shared spaces central to the experience. We'd skip it if you want waterfront views, major attractions immediately outside or a conventional grand-hotel setting.

  • Best for: design-minded couples; food-focused luxury travelers; unhurried Stockholm stays

  • Watch out for: smallest rooms are compact; residential location away from sightseeing core; confirm step-free access for your room

  • Location: Quiet Östermalm setting; nearby metro, with Stureplan roughly 15 minutes away on foot.

  • Rooms: Individually styled rooms with strongly praised beds; entry-level rooms can be small.

  • Cleanliness: Excellent overall feedback, supported by very high Booking.com and Expedia cleanliness scores.

  • Service: Warm, attentive and flexible service is the clearest recurring strength across recent reviews.

  • Amenities: Restaurant, included breakfast, garden, library, gym and sauna; guests praise the private wellness facilities.

  • Fees and surprises: Expedia lists street parking rather than a hotel garage; check room size and accessibility before booking.
