#1 of 8 hotels in Hlemmur & Borgartún by Axel's take. Hlemmur & Borgartún is #4 of 5 places to stay in Reykjavik. The best hotels in Hlemmur & Borgartún, ranked · Where to stay in Reykjavik
Axel's take: 8.8/10
A dependable Reykjavík base with excellent breakfast and easy tour pickups. A modern, practical 3-star on the eastern edge of central Reykjavík, scored for what it is.
Storm is a modern 3-star that gets the essentials right: clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff. We'd pick it for a Reykjavík break built around sightseeing rather than hotel facilities. Recent Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise cleanliness, service and the included breakfast. Tour pickup stop 12 is right outside, and Laugavegur is close, though the heart of downtown takes a longer walk.
The main compromises are compact rooms and scarce parking: the hotel confirms free spaces, but don't count on getting one. Breakfast can get busy, and housekeeping needs to be requested. Nearby construction caused morning noise in March 2026; whether that work is finished remains unconfirmed, so light sleepers should check before booking. We'd skip it if you want generous luggage space or guaranteed parking; otherwise, it's a strong, straightforward base.
-

-

-

-
Service: Repeated praise for friendly reception staff and help arranging transport and tours.
-
Amenities: Included buffet breakfast, bar/lounge, free Wi-Fi and 24-hour reception.
-
