Axel's take: 7.2/10

Friendly staff and beachfront pools appeal, but construction makes this a conditional pick. a full-service beachfront all-inclusive with family and Hacienda sections, scored for what it is.

Krystal Grand is a full-service beachfront all-inclusive, strongest for travelers who want pools, activities and meals in one place rather than polished luxury. Its family resort and more private Hacienda section offer different experiences, so room category matters. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise restaurant and bar staff, and the beachfront setting remains a genuine strength. We'd consider it for an easygoing family break, with expectations kept realistic.

The main reservation is construction: September 2026 reviews on both sites describe lobby works and building activity next door, sometimes compromising paid-for ocean views. Recurring reports of dated rooms, maintenance problems, uneven housekeeping and frustrating dinner reservations also temper the appeal, although plenty of guests report clean rooms and enjoyable food. Confirm the works, exact room outlook and Hacienda access before booking. We'd skip it for a quiet celebration or consistently upscale dining.

• Best for: easygoing families; pool-and-beach vacationers

• Watch out for: lobby and neighboring construction reported in September 2026; uneven room maintenance and housekeeping; dinner reservations and section-access restrictions

• Location: Direct beach access in the northern Hotel Zone; convenient for the airport, rather than downtown strolling.

• Rooms: Spacious options, but condition varies; confirm that an ocean-view booking will not face construction.

• Cleanliness: Many guests praise clean rooms, but recent reports show housekeeping is not consistently reliable.

• Service: Restaurant and bar teams earn repeated praise; reception and problem handling receive more mixed feedback.

• Amenities: Pools, kids' and teens' clubs, gym and spa; Hacienda benefits depend on the booking.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists paid valet parking; guests report room-service charges, so check package exclusions.
