Hotels in Puerto VallartaA simple 3-star apartment-style stay in the Romantic Zone
8.3/10
A strong self-catering base near the beach, with nightlife and stairs to consider.
Olas Altas Suites is a simple 3-star apartment-style stay, not a full-service resort. We'd pick it for an independent Puerto Vallarta trip: Los Muertos Beach is a block away, restaurants and bars surround it, and equipped kitchens make longer stays practical. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, comfortable accommodations and helpful housekeeping. King apartments offer more space; basic queen suites are smaller and face inward.
The trade-off is being in the middle of the action. Some guests sleep well, while others mention neighborhood noise, so quiet isn't guaranteed. There's no elevator or conventional front desk; arrange arrival ahead of time. Beach-club access is separately paid, rather than an on-site resort facility. An Expedia guest reported daytime construction noise in January 2026, but we couldn't confirm it remains active. We'd skip it for step-free access, guaranteed silence or extensive hotel amenities.
