Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong adults-only base for beach days, with room choice making the difference. a small, adults-only 3-star hotel in the Romantic Zone, scored for what it is.

Casa Doña Susana is a small, adults-only 3-star in the Romantic Zone, and we'd pick it for walkability and good value rather than resort polish. Restaurants, nightlife and Los Muertos Beach are close, while the rooftop pool offers a quieter retreat. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise housekeeping and friendly staff. Access to the nearby Playa Los Arcos beach club adds substance to the package.

Choose your room carefully: standard rooms can be compact and dim, while newer balcony rooms draw stronger praise but can catch street noise. Several guests also report firm mattresses. Rooftop drink service has been intermittently unavailable, requiring a walk to the sister hotel; confirm arrangements before choosing all-inclusive. It's a strong pick for independent couples and solo travelers; we'd skip it for spacious-room guarantees or seamless, full-service resort convenience.

• Best for: couples who explore on foot; solo travelers seeking an adults-only base; beachgoers who prefer a smaller hotel

• Watch out for: compact, dim standard rooms; street noise in some balcony rooms; intermittent rooftop bar service

• Location: Central Romantic Zone setting, a short walk from the beach, restaurants and nightlife.

• Rooms: Room categories differ substantially; newer balcony rooms are the stronger choice, though noise and firm beds may bother some.

• Cleanliness: Housekeeping earns consistent praise across recent Expedia and Tripadvisor reviews.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength; rooftop food-and-drink availability is less consistent.

• Amenities: Rooftop pool, elevator and Wi-Fi; beach club, restaurant and spa facilities are at nearby Playa Los Arcos.

• Fees and surprises: All-inclusive is optional, not automatic; confirm meal inclusions and where drinks are served.
