7.1/10
Come for the bay views and helpful staff, but confirm the pool before booking.
Hotel Suites La Siesta is a simple 3-star hillside aparthotel, strongest on bay views, kitchen-equipped suites and access to downtown Puerto Vallarta. We'd consider it for an independent, self-catering stay rather than a resort holiday. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and friendly staff, and the panoramic setting gives this older property a clear advantage.
The compromises matter: the hotel confirms ceiling fans rather than air-conditioning, while guests across sites mention dated furnishings, firm beds, patchy Wi-Fi and nighttime noise. The steep uphill return from the Malecón also makes it a poor fit for limited mobility. More importantly, several July–August 2026 guests reported the swimming pool empty or unavailable, despite listings still advertising it; reopening is unconfirmed. We'd skip it if reliable swimming, cool rooms or modern comfort are priorities.

Best for: independent travelers who self-cater; bay-view seekers; downtown explorers comfortable with hills
Watch out for: pool reopening unconfirmed after summer closure reports; ceiling fans only; no air-conditioning; steep access, nighttime noise and patchy Wi-Fi
Location: Central hillside setting near the Malecón; convenient downhill, strenuous on the return.
Rooms: Kitchen-equipped suites with bay views; older furnishings and recurring firm-bed complaints.
Cleanliness: Recent guest feedback generally praises cleanliness despite the property's aging condition.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across guest-review sites.
Amenities: El Panorama restaurant and advertised pool; multiple summer 2026 guests reported the pool unavailable.
Fees and surprises: Parking is advertised as free; confirm pool and elevator operation directly before booking.
