#4 of 9 hotels in Kata & Kata Noi by Axel's take. Kata & Kata Noi is #2 of 12 places to stay in Phuket. The best hotels in Kata & Kata Noi, ranked · Where to stay in Phuket

Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong family pick for beach access, helpful staff and easy evenings out. a modern, family-focused 4-star near Kata Beach, scored for what it is.

OZO Phuket is a modern, family-focused 4-star that gets the holiday basics right without pretending to be luxurious. It's a strong pick for its convenient Kata location: the beach is a short walk through the rear gate, with restaurants and the night market nearby. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, cleanliness, comfortable beds and varied breakfast. Children's pools and slides give families another reason to choose it.

The main compromise is space: entry-level rooms start at 25 square metres, and small rooms recur in guest feedback. Some guests also mention weak soundproofing. August 2026 guests reported pool tiling work and temporary children's slide-pool closures; later September stays praise the pools, but confirm maintenance is finished before booking. We'd skip it for secluded romance or sprawling resort grounds; for a practical family beach holiday, it delivers.

Best for: families with young children; beachgoers who want restaurants nearby; travelers prioritizing convenience over luxury
Watch out for: compact entry-level rooms; some soundproofing complaints; confirm completion of reported pool maintenance
Location: Short walk to Kata Beach via the rear gate; markets, shops and restaurants nearby, rather than a beachfront setting.
Rooms: Superior rooms are 25 sqm; larger family rooms and suites offer more breathing space.
Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across sites, with occasional housekeeping delays rather than a dominant cleanliness problem.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are among the most consistent strengths in recent reviews.
Amenities: Outdoor pools, children's slides, a gym and dining options; don't mistake the water-play facilities for a large water park.
Fees and surprises: Parking is free; airport transfers and some games cost extra. August guests reported temporary children's pool closures for tiling.
