#8 of 9 hotels in Bangtao & Laguna by Axel's take. Bangtao & Laguna is #8 of 12 places to stay in Phuket. The best hotels in Bangtao & Laguna, ranked · Where to stay in Phuket

Axel's take: 7.8/10

A good Bang Tao beach base, but not consistently five-star a family-friendly beachfront resort with five-star billing, scored for what it is.

Amora is a family-friendly beachfront resort with five-star billing, and we'd choose it for beach-and-pool days rather than polished luxury. Direct access to Bang Tao, landscaped grounds and a kids' club give it broad appeal. Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and clean rooms, while Booking.com's overall feedback is solid rather than exceptional. The hotel lists three pools, a spa and a gym.

The catch is consistency: Tripadvisor guests repeatedly flag weak soundproofing, and room condition varies between buildings. Expedia also warns of neighboring-building construction; recent Trip.com feedback mentions construction views. We'd request a quieter, recently refreshed room and confirm where work is happening before booking. It's a good fit for easy resort days, but we'd skip it for guaranteed peace or reliably high-end rooms and service.

  • Best for: families wanting beach-and-pool days; couples prioritizing direct beach access

  • Watch out for: neighboring-building construction; weak room soundproofing; room condition varies by building

  • Location: Direct Bang Tao beach access; recent Expedia guests find nearby street walking awkward.

  • Rooms: Balconies or terraces are standard; sound insulation and condition are less consistent.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive across Booking.com and Expedia, with occasional housekeeping lapses on Tripadvisor.

  • Service: Friendliness is a recurring strength, though some guests report slow or uneven responses.

  • Amenities: The official site lists three pools, AQUA Kids Club, Lom Talay Spa, a gym and NORA Beach Club.

  • Fees and surprises: Expedia warns of neighboring construction and no elevators; an incidental deposit may be required.
