Axel's take: 9.1/10

A strong city base with standout cleanliness, helpful staff and good value. a full-service 4-star city hotel near Multiplaza, scored for what it is.

This full-service 4-star in San Francisco gets the important things consistently right. We'd pick it for comfortable city stays rather than luxury: Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious, clean rooms, helpful staff and the included breakfast buffet. Booking.com's strong cleanliness and comfort scores reinforce that picture. Multiplaza and nearby restaurants are within walking distance, while the outdoor pool, gym and free parking round out a useful package.

The main compromise is geography: this is a modern commercial neighborhood, not a doorstep base for Casco Viejo's historic streets. Expect rides for much of your sightseeing, and allow for traffic; the metro is not particularly close either. Spa treatments cost extra. We'd skip it if old-town atmosphere and sightseeing entirely on foot matter most, but it's an excellent fit for shopping, business and a comfortable city base.

• Best for: business travelers; Multiplaza shoppers; travelers prioritizing clean, comfortable rooms

• Watch out for: Rides needed for much of the sightseeing; Metro stations are a substantial walk away; Spa treatments cost extra

• Location: Walkable to Multiplaza and restaurants; less convenient for exploring historic sights on foot.

• Rooms: Guests consistently praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds and good showers.

• Cleanliness: A standout strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Recent guests repeatedly describe helpful, friendly staff and efficient check-in.

• Amenities: Included buffet breakfast, outdoor pool, gym, restaurant and free Wi-Fi cover city-stay essentials.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is free; spa treatments and some early check-in or late checkout requests incur charges.
