Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong city base for attentive service and spacious rooms, not poolside lounging. a traditional five-star business hotel in Panama City's financial district, scored for what it is.

Bristol Panama is a traditional five-star business hotel whose strongest assets are its staff and generously sized rooms. We'd pick it for a comfortable city stay rather than a resort-style escape. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise thoughtful service and spotless housekeeping, while Booking.com guests also rate comfort highly. Breakfast, the cocktails and SalSíPuedes restaurant earn plenty of positive mentions, making staying in an appealing option after sightseeing.

The trade-offs are a small pool and a financial-district setting rather than an atmospheric Casco Viejo address. Some guests also find room furnishings old-fashioned rather than fresh luxury. One June 2026 Expedia guest reported gym construction; the hotel's current FAQ lists it as open, but fitness-focused travelers should confirm. We'd skip it if a substantial pool or historic surroundings are priorities.

• Best for: business travelers; couples prioritizing service and room space; comfortable city sightseeing stays

• Watch out for: small swimming pool; some old-fashioned room furnishings; confirm gym availability after reported June 2026 work

• Location: Financial-district base near restaurants; expect a ride to Casco Viejo.

• Rooms: Spacious and highly rated for comfort, though some furnishings show their age.

• Cleanliness: Consistently strong guest feedback across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are the clearest recurring strength.

• Amenities: Spa, gym, small outdoor pool, SalSíPuedes restaurant and cocktail bar.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking is included; breakfast depends on the booking plan, and airport transfers cost extra.
