Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong downtown pick for space and self-catering, less convincing for quiet. A mid-range apartment-style hotel in downtown Ottawa, scored for what it is.

Les Suites is a mid-range apartment-style hotel whose biggest selling point is usable space, not luxury polish. Separate bedrooms, full kitchens, in-suite laundry and balconies make it a strong pick for families and longer stays. The Rideau Centre is next door, with ByWard Market and major sights within walking distance. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable suites and helpful staff; the renovated Modern suites look like the best bet.

The main compromise is noise: guests on both sites report traffic carrying even to high floors, so request a courtyard-facing suite. Parking costs extra, and breakfast is not included. Management acknowledged suite-renovation work in February 2026; its current status is unclear, so check before booking. We'd choose it for practical comfort and room to spread out, but skip it for a reliably hushed or polished luxury stay.

• Best for: Families needing separate bedrooms; Longer stays and self-catering; Downtown sightseeing without a car

• Watch out for: Traffic noise even on high floors; Paid parking and no included breakfast; Confirm current renovation status

• Location: Next to Rideau Centre, with ByWard Market, transit and central sights close by.

• Rooms: Generous apartment layouts with kitchens, laundry and balconies; request a Modern suite away from traffic.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is broadly positive for suites; some earlier reviews flag less tidy shared areas.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across Tripadvisor and Expedia.

• Amenities: Heated indoor pool, 24-hour gym, free Wi-Fi and a lobby café complement the self-catering facilities.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and pets cost extra; a credit-card incidental deposit is required, and renovation completion is unverified.
