#7 of 9 hotels in Downtown & Parliament Hill by Axel's take. Downtown & Parliament Hill is #1 of 6 places to stay in Ottawa. The best hotels in Downtown & Parliament Hill, ranked · Where to stay in Ottawa

Axel's take: 8.0/10

A dependable downtown base with welcoming staff, but compact bathrooms and renovations temper the appeal. a full-service 4-star business hotel in downtown Ottawa, scored for what it is.

This full-service 4-star business hotel is a strong pick for exploring central Ottawa without a car. Parliament Hill is walkable, and the indoor connection to Lyon Station makes transit particularly convenient. Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise helpful staff and clean rooms; the indoor saltwater pool adds appeal beyond business trips. Recent Tripadvisor guests also welcome the refreshed rooms.

The trade-offs are compact bathrooms, some tight room layouts and recurring reports of noise. Ask for a renovated room away from elevators. Guest-room renovations remain underway, with Expedia listing completion for October 31, 2026, subject to change. Marriott confirms the fitness centre is closed October 8–29, 2026, with a nearby alternative available. Parking and breakfast generally cost extra. We'd skip it if generous space or a guaranteed renovation-free stay matters most.

  • Best for: business travelers using downtown transit; car-free sightseeing trips; travelers who want an indoor pool

  • Watch out for: guest-room renovations through October 2026; fitness centre closed October 8–29, 2026; compact bathrooms and some room noise

  • Location: Walkable to Parliament Hill, with an indoor connection to Lyon Station.

  • Rooms: Refreshed rooms draw praise, but layouts can be tight and bathrooms small; some guests report noise.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness feedback across Booking.com and Expedia, despite occasional housekeeping misses.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across guest-review sites.

  • Amenities: Indoor saltwater pool, Prova restaurant and paid-access Club Lounge; fitness centre temporarily closed.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and most breakfast plans cost extra; underground parking has a six-foot clearance, and Marriott confirms no EV charging.
