Axel's take: 7.9/10

Useful kitchens and a walkable location outweigh uneven maintenance, but light sleepers should be selective. A practical 3-star extended-stay hotel in Midtown Crossing, scored for what it is.

Element is a practical 3-star extended-stay hotel, strongest for travelers who want kitchen facilities and neighborhood restaurants rather than full-service extras. We'd consider it a good Midtown base: Turner Park is steps away, breakfast is included, and rooms offer useful space for longer visits. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful staff and breakfast; Tripadvisor feedback also supports the location and kitchen setup.

The reservations are maintenance and noise. Air-conditioning and temperature-control complaints recur across sites, alongside occasional housekeeping lapses and signs of wear. Ask for a room away from Dodge Street and confirm the cooling works. Garage parking costs extra, and Omaha Streetcar construction is disrupting nearby Midtown streets. We'd skip it if dependable quiet or consistently polished upkeep matters more than space and self-catering.

• Best for: Longer stays with self-catering; Families wanting extra room; Travelers exploring Midtown restaurants

• Watch out for: Dodge Street traffic noise; Recurring temperature-control complaints; Paid parking and nearby streetcar construction

• Location: Restaurants and Turner Park are walkable; nearby streetcar work complicates driving routes.

• Rooms: Spacious layouts with kitchens; some wear and recurring cooling issues make room selection important.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is predominantly positive, with occasional housekeeping and carpet complaints.

• Service: Staff often earn praise, though housekeeping follow-through and busy-period handling can be uneven.

• Amenities: Complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi and a 24-hour gym; Marriott currently says there is no shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Adjacent garage parking and dogs carry extra charges; garage QR-code access can be fiddly.
