#6 of 9 hotels in Schwabing by Axel's take. Schwabing is #7 of 9 places to stay in Munich. The best hotels in Schwabing, ranked · Where to stay in Munich

Axel's take: 7.8/10

Good-value basics and handy tram access, but check nearby construction before booking. a no-frills 3-star in northern Munich, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 3-star in northern Munich is a good-value base if you’re happy trading a central address for straightforward comfort. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise cleanliness, helpful staff and comfortable rooms; recent Hotels.com reviews reinforce that picture. We’d pick it for a short business trip or budget-minded visit rather than a hotel-centered holiday. Schwabing Nord tram stop is a short walk away, and there’s a café-bar and breakfast buffet.

The rooms are compact and simply equipped, and sightseeing means taking public transport rather than stepping into the old town. More importantly, a September 2026 HolidayCheck guest reports major construction directly outside and restricted parking; confirm the current situation before committing. Recent service complaints exist, but don’t outweigh the broader positive picture. We’d skip it for a quiet daytime retreat or walk-everywhere city break.

  • Best for: budget-minded short stays; business travelers in northern Munich; travelers comfortable using public transport

  • Watch out for: construction and parking restrictions reported in September 2026; compact, simply equipped rooms; not a walk-to-the-old-town location

  • Location: Near Schwabing Nord tram stop; practical transport access, but outside the historic center.

  • Rooms: Compact, functional rooms with air conditioning, safes and walk-in showers.

  • Cleanliness: Generally a strength across booking sites, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

  • Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, though some recent guests report unhelpful reception.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, café-bar, breakfast buffet, meeting rooms and a garage cover the basics.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and buffet breakfast cost extra unless included; ask about construction and parking access.
