Axel's take: 8.4/10

Warm service and clean rooms make this old-school hotel a strong practical pick. a traditional, family-run 3-star near Munich’s Oktoberfest grounds, scored for what it is.

Hotel Brack is a traditional, family-run 3-star that gets the important things right: clean rooms, genuinely helpful staff and a well-liked breakfast served until noon. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the welcome and housekeeping. We'd pick it for a straightforward Munich stay, especially if walking to the Oktoberfest grounds matters more than fashionable interiors or being in the old town.

The trade-offs are older decor, traffic noise in front-facing rooms and a lack of air-conditioning reported by recent guests; request a rear room and confirm cooling if traveling in summer. Crucially, Poccistraße and Goetheplatz station renovations disrupt the normally handy U-Bahn connection from October 5 through November 27, 2026, with shuttle trains and replacement buses. Parking is limited and cannot be reserved. We'd skip it if you need contemporary rooms, guaranteed cool nights or seamless transit during the works.

• Best for: Oktoberfest visitors; travelers who value friendly service; sightseers happy with traditional rooms

• Watch out for: U-Bahn construction through November 27, 2026; traffic noise in front rooms; air-conditioning not generally available

• Location: Beside Poccistraße station and a short walk from Theresienwiese; current station works complicate transit.

• Rooms: Traditional rather than modern; rear rooms are the better request for quieter sleep.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Expedia feedback.

• Service: Warm, helpful reception staff are the clearest recurring highlight.

• Amenities: Breakfast runs until noon; free Wi-Fi and 24-hour reception cover the practical basics.

• Fees and surprises: Check whether breakfast is included; parking is limited and unreservable, and U-Bahn works affect access.
