#3 of 9 hotels in Haidhausen & Au by Axel's take. Haidhausen & Au is #4 of 9 places to stay in Munich. The best hotels in Haidhausen & Au, ranked · Where to stay in Munich

Axel's take: 8.5/10

A dependable Munich base with excellent train access and comfortable rooms. a modern, full-service 4-star in Haidhausen, scored for what it is.

Hilton Munich City is a modern, full-service 4-star in Haidhausen, and a strong pick for comfort and easy transport rather than old-town atmosphere. Direct access to Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn makes sightseeing and airport journeys straightforward. Recent Expedia, Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; the breakfast buffet also earns plenty of approval. We'd choose it for a practical city break or business trip.

The trade-offs are worth knowing: you're outside the old town, there's no pool, and some recent guests report rooms that stay too warm despite air-conditioning. Families should confirm the actual beds included, since rollaway charges recur in reviews. Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking. We'd skip it if a pool or an old-town doorstep matters more than transport convenience.

  • Best for: city breaks using public transport; business travelers; families booking connecting rooms

  • Watch out for: some reports of overly warm rooms; extra-bed charges; no swimming pool

  • Location: Haidhausen setting with direct S-Bahn access; Marienplatz is two stops away.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable and well maintained, though temperature control draws some complaints.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across guest sites, including recent Expedia reviews.

  • Service: Helpful, friendly staff receive broad praise across the main review sites.

  • Amenities: 24-hour gym, MoNa restaurant, Juliet Rose bar and executive lounge; no pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast cost extra unless included; confirm rollaway bedding and charges before arrival.
