#1 of 9 hotels in Schwabing by Axel's take. Schwabing is #7 of 9 places to stay in Munich. The best hotels in Schwabing, ranked · Where to stay in Munich

Axel's take: 8.9/10

Generous rooms and a standout spa, if you don't need an Old Town address. a modern 5-star luxury hotel in northern Schwabing, scored for what it is.

Andaz Munich is a modern 5-star luxury hotel in northern Schwabing, and we'd choose it for a stay that balances sightseeing with proper downtime. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious, comfortable rooms, high cleanliness standards and an excellent breakfast. The large spa, indoor pool and rooftop bar give you good reasons to spend time at the hotel rather than simply sleep here. Staff generally earn warm reviews, including for putting occasional hiccups right.

The main compromise is location: trams stop outside, but the Old Town isn't on your doorstep. Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking, and parking is charged. Families should note that children's pool access is limited to 10am–5pm. It's a strong pick for spa-minded couples and business travelers; we'd skip it for a short trip centered on walking between historic sights.

  • Best for: spa-minded couples; business travelers; travelers who prioritize spacious rooms

  • Watch out for: tram or taxi needed for Old Town sightseeing; breakfast and parking can add significantly; children's pool hours limited to 10am–5pm

  • Location: Northern Schwabing, with tram stops outside; less convenient for walking around the Old Town.

  • Rooms: Spacious, contemporary rooms draw consistent praise for comfort and thoughtful furnishings.

  • Cleanliness: A clear strength across guest feedback, supported by high Booking.com and Expedia cleanliness ratings.

  • Service: Generally friendly and accommodating; recent guests also praise staff for resolving occasional problems.

  • Amenities: Extensive spa, indoor pool, saunas, 24-hour gym and rooftop bar; children's swimming hours are restricted.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and pets incur charges; check breakfast inclusion and spa access times on arrival and departure days.
