Axel's take: 7.8/10

Good family fun and refreshed pools, but all-inclusive comes with caveats. a mid-range, family-friendly beachfront suite resort with an all-inclusive option, scored for what it is.

Villa del Palmar is a mid-range beachfront suite resort, strongest for families wanting pool activities and space rather than luxury. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, friendly staff and ocean views. The pool and public-area renovation was reported complete in February 2026, and newer guests generally welcome the changes. We'd consider it a good family base near Cabo, with expectations set below a polished luxury all-inclusive.

The catch is consistency: recent reviews describe limited restaurant availability, slow meals and some musty rooms alongside plenty of happy stays. August 2026 guests specifically reported Carbón Grill and the Taco Bar closed; confirm current openings and direct beach access before booking. Premium dishes, selected drinks and spa facilities cost extra under the hotel's plan. We'd skip it for a quiet couples' escape or an all-inclusive experience without exclusions.

• Best for: families who enjoy pool activities; groups wanting spacious suites; travelers mixing resort time with Cabo outings

• Watch out for: restaurant closures and limited dining variety; some rooms reported musty or dated; all-inclusive exclusions and timeshare pitches

• Location: On Médano Beach near Cabo; recent guests report intermittent restrictions on direct beach access.

• Rooms: Spacious suites are a strength, but dated furnishings and mildew odors recur in some reviews.

• Cleanliness: A clear overall strength across Expedia and Tripadvisor, despite some room-odor complaints.

• Service: Pool and entertainment staff earn frequent praise; dining waits and problem handling are less consistent.

• Amenities: Refreshed family and adults-only pools, activities and a gym; confirm restaurant openings before arrival.

• Fees and surprises: The official plan excludes premium menu items, selected drinks and spa facilities; guests also mention timeshare sales approaches.
