Axel's take: 7.5/10

Good downtown value if you can trade polish and quiet for walkability. a no-frills 3-star hotel in downtown Cabo San Lucas, scored for what it is.

Seven Crown is a no-frills 3-star downtown hotel, not a beachfront resort. It's a good-value base for travelers who plan to spend their days exploring Cabo: Médano Beach and the marina are roughly a ten-minute walk away. Recent Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the convenient location and helpful staff, while larger rooms and suites earn compliments for their space. The outdoor pool and gym add useful extras without making this a destination hotel.

The trade-off is an aging property with uneven upkeep. Recent reviews mention dated bathrooms, worn furnishings and occasional cleaning shortcomings, although plenty of guests still describe clean, functional rooms. Nearby bars and outside noise are recurring complaints, especially on weekends. We'd choose it for a practical downtown stay, but skip it for guaranteed quiet, polished rooms or a beach-resort experience.

• Best for: budget-minded couples; travelers exploring Cabo on foot; short downtown stays

• Watch out for: nearby bar and street noise; dated bathrooms and uneven maintenance; not beachfront

• Location: Central Cabo San Lucas, roughly ten minutes on foot from Médano Beach and the marina.

• Rooms: Basic and dated; larger rooms and suites draw praise, but maintenance varies.

• Cleanliness: Many recent guests report clean rooms, with some complaints about linens and deeper cleaning.

• Service: Helpful, friendly staff are a consistent strength, despite occasional reception complaints.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym, Wi-Fi and 24-hour reception; expect practical rather than resort-style facilities.

• Fees and surprises: Free parking is listed but guests report limited spaces; late checkout carries a fee.
