Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong family all-inclusive for pool days, not ocean swimming. an upscale, family-friendly beachfront all-inclusive resort, scored for what it is.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is a large, upscale family all-inclusive in San José del Cabo, and a strong pick for an easy, activity-filled vacation. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise the welcoming staff, clean surroundings and spacious rooms. Pools, children’s activities and varied restaurants give mixed-age groups plenty to do. A renovation completed in 2025 refreshed Tower B rooms, the lobby and family facilities, though room condition still varies by category.

The biggest catch is the beach: enjoy the views and walks, but don't choose it for ocean swimming. Dining feedback is mostly positive, with recurring reports of uneven food and slow restaurant service. Pool loungers can also require an early start. We'd choose it for families who prioritize pools and convenience; skip it for guaranteed quiet, consistently polished luxury or a swimmable beachfront.

• Best for: families with children; multigenerational groups; pool-focused all-inclusive vacations

• Watch out for: beach unsuitable for swimming; uneven dining and restaurant waits; competition for pool loungers

• Location: Beachfront in San José del Cabo’s hotel zone, rather than Cabo San Lucas.

• Rooms: Spacious overall; Tower B was refreshed in 2025, but not every room has the same finish.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness feedback outweighs occasional housekeeping lapses.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are a standout; restaurant service is less consistent.

• Amenities: Multiple outdoor pools, children’s water play, kids’ and teens’ clubs, gym and Zen Spa.

• Fees and surprises: Spa treatments, cabanas and airport transfers cost extra; all-inclusive does not cover everything.
