#9 of 9 hotels in Mallory Square & Historic Seaport by Axel's take. Mallory Square & Historic Seaport is #2 of 6 places to stay in Key West. The best hotels in Mallory Square & Historic Seaport, ranked · Where to stay in Key West

Axel's take: 8.1/10

A friendly Old Town base, provided you can trade space and quiet for character. a simple mid-range inn in historic Key West conch houses, scored for what it is.

Fitch Lodge is a simple mid-range inn spread across historic conch houses, not a full-service resort. It's a strong pick for travelers spending their days exploring: the Historic Seaport is close, and Duval Street is walkable without being on the doorstep. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms. The small courtyard pool adds a useful place to cool off between outings.

The compromises are compact rooms, some dated fittings and recurring traffic noise on Eaton Street; we'd request a room away from the road. There is no on-site parking, and the nightly amenity fee deserves checking before booking. The hotel's current website directs guests to a nearby bakery for breakfast rather than promising an included spread. We'd skip it for a quiet, spacious retreat, but like it as a personable base for exploring on foot.

Best for: couples exploring Old Town; travelers arriving without a car; Historic Seaport outings
Watch out for: traffic noise in Eaton Street rooms; compact rooms and some dated fittings; amenity fee and no on-site parking
Location: Near the Historic Seaport, with Duval Street walkable; road-facing rooms can be noisy.
Rooms: Comfortable beds win praise, but room sizes, storage and condition vary.
Cleanliness: Recent feedback is predominantly positive, with occasional housekeeping misses.
Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are the most consistent strength across guest reviews.
Amenities: Small outdoor pool, Wi-Fi and afternoon lemonade; breakfast is at a nearby bakery.
Fees and surprises: Check the nightly amenity fee and breakfast inclusions; parking is on surrounding streets or in public lots.
