#8 of 9 hotels in Airport & Pashupatinath by Axel's take. Airport & Pashupatinath is #7 of 8 places to stay in Kathmandu. The best hotels in Airport & Pashupatinath, ranked · Where to stay in Kathmandu

Axel's take: 6.8/10

Useful for temple visits, but comfort and consistency are less convincing. a basic 3-star near Pashupatinath Temple and Kathmandu airport, scored for what it is.

Hotel Bagmati is a basic 3-star we'd consider for a short Pashupatinath pilgrimage or airport stop rather than a longer Kathmandu holiday. Its strongest selling point is the location: the temple is walkable and the airport is nearby. A restaurant, garden and private parking add practical convenience. Guest feedback includes praise for helpful staff and food, including a December 2025 review describing clean, well-kept rooms.

The reservation is consistency. Booking.com and Expedia's modest overall scores temper the warmer accounts elsewhere; older reviews describe uneven housekeeping and maintenance. Recent detailed evidence is limited, so those problems shouldn't be treated as universal—or confidently resolved. Upper floors are reached by stairs, and the hotel's own website specifies air-conditioning for Deluxe rooms. We'd skip it if dependable room standards or step-free access matter most.

Best for: Pashupatinath pilgrims; Short airport-area stays
Watch out for: Uneven room-condition feedback; Upper floors accessible only by stairs; Confirm air-conditioning for your room category
Location: Walkable to Pashupatinath Temple, with convenient proximity to the airport.
Rooms: Basic accommodation; the official site specifically advertises air-conditioning in Deluxe rooms.
Cleanliness: Mixed evidence: newer praise contrasts with older complaints and modest aggregate cleanliness scores.
Service: Helpful staff receive praise, but ratings do not establish consistently strong service.
Amenities: Restaurant, garden, terrace, free Wi-Fi and private parking; upper floors require stairs.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast and area shuttles can cost extra; Expedia says onsite parking must be requested.
