Hotels in Kansas Citya historic 4-star boutique hotel beside Country Club Plaza
9.1/10
A strong Plaza pick for personal service, comfortable rooms and evenings of jazz.
The Raphael is a historic 4-star boutique hotel beside Country Club Plaza, and a strong pick if you prefer traditional character to contemporary flash. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise welcoming staff, comfortable beds and cleanliness; recent Expedia reviews remain enthusiastic into October 2026. Chaz, the restaurant and lounge, gives you a good reason to stay in for dinner and live jazz, while Plaza shopping and restaurants are an easy walk away.
The trade-offs are mostly practical: parking and breakfast cost extra, and room layouts and views deserve attention when booking. A few guests on Tripadvisor and Expedia report hot-water problems, though these sit within overwhelmingly positive feedback. Expedia listed selected-room renovations through September 27, 2026; confirm completion rather than assuming every room was refreshed. We'd skip it if sleek, uniformly modern rooms are essential.
