Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong event base with friendly service, but less appeal for downtown wandering. a full-service downtown convention hotel, not a luxury stay, scored for what it is.

This full-service downtown convention hotel is a strong pick for Fresno events, rather than a luxury getaway. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the staff, cleanliness and comfortable rooms, with recent Expedia reviews especially positive. The big waterfall atrium gives the public spaces character, while free parking, on-site dining and a heated indoor-outdoor pool make short stays straightforward.

The main compromise is the setting: Tripadvisor and Expedia guests raise reservations about the surrounding downtown streets, particularly for evening walks. Some rooms feel dated, and the small gym draws complaints about heat. An August 2026 Expedia guest also reported contained lobby/restaurant renovations without disruption; confirm whether work remains. Breakfast generally costs extra. We'd choose it for convention convenience and dependable basics, but skip it if a lively, comfortable-to-explore neighborhood is central to the trip.

• Best for: convention and arena visitors; business travelers; road-trippers wanting full-service facilities

• Watch out for: surroundings less appealing for evening walks; some dated rooms and a warm, small gym; confirm status of reported renovation work

• Location: Convenient for the convention complex and Selland Arena; some guests prefer driving rather than walking around after dark.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, though some guests find the furnishings dated.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across Booking.com ratings and recent Expedia guest accounts.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn consistent praise across several sources.

• Amenities: Heated indoor-outdoor pool, hot tub, dining and a 24-hour gym; the gym gets heat complaints.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and Wi-Fi are complimentary; breakfast usually costs extra. An August 2026 guest reported contained renovation work.
