Axel's take: 6.4/10

Friendly staff and useful basics, but room condition is too inconsistent for an easy recommendation. A basic 3-star highway hotel near Fort Myers airport, scored for what it is.

This basic 3-star off I-75 makes most sense for a short, budget-minded stop with a car. Now listed as Staywell or Stay Well Inn & Suites on several sites, the former La Quinta offers free parking, breakfast and an indoor pool. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, and many describe comfortable beds and clean, spacious rooms. It can deliver decent value, but it is not a consistently dependable pick.

The problem is the gap between rooms: recent feedback also describes musty smells, worn furnishings and uneven bathroom cleaning, with pest reports appearing across multiple booking sites. A March 2026 Tripadvisor guest reported renovations underway; completion could not be confirmed. We'd consider it for a practical overnight, but skip it if reliable cleanliness or a polished setting matters more than saving money.

• Best for: Budget-minded drivers; Short airport-area stopovers

• Watch out for: Uneven cleaning and recurring pest reports; Dated rooms and common areas; Changed branding and unconfirmed renovation status

• Location: Convenient for I-75 and airport access; a car is recommended, and this is not a beach base.

• Rooms: Many guests praise spacious rooms and comfortable beds, but wear, musty odors and maintenance issues recur.

• Cleanliness: Plenty of clean-room reports, offset by repeated bathroom-cleaning and pest complaints in 2026.

• Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk and breakfast staff are the clearest recurring strengths.

• Amenities: Listings include an indoor pool, fitness room, breakfast, Wi-Fi and free parking; confirm pool availability.

• Fees and surprises: Booking.com lists a refundable damage deposit and possible pet charges; the former Wyndham page now redirects.
