Axel's take on Rothschild Boulevard: #1 of 8 in Tel Aviv, 8.3/10
The best urban base for architecture, restaurant evenings and southern nightlife. Strong hotels, easy sightseeing and distinctive boulevard life put Rothschild first, though value is moderate and the beach is not on your doorstep.
Rothschild is the choice when you want Tel Aviv's street life rather than its seafront. The shaded boulevard, White City architecture and Independence Trail give daytime walks a purpose, while Herzl, Lilienblum and nearby streets make dinner and drinks easy to build into the evening. Neve Tzedek and the southern markets fit naturally into days spent on foot.
Choose the street carefully: the southern nightlife end is a different sleeping proposition from quieter blocks toward Habima. The beach is an outing, not your doorstep, and Allenby-side rail construction warrants checking the immediate surroundings. Skip it for a sand-first holiday or reliably early nights.
- Best for: nightlife, food lovers, travelers without a car, museums and culture
- Skip it if: You want to step straight onto the beach; Late-night street activity bothers you
- Getting around: Red Line Allenby serves the southern end; walk to Neve Tzedek and central markets; from TLV, train to HaHagana then bus/taxi.
- After dark: The southern boulevard and Lilienblum are established nightlife territory; choose away from bar frontages if sleep comes first.
- Rates: Typical Axel rate $197 a night · usually 14% under the public rate

How to choose
- Choose Hotel Montefiore if personal service and destination dining matter more than the rate or beach access.

- Choose Hotel 75 by Prima Hotels if you want a cheaper walking base and can accept Allenby construction and street noise.
What paying more buys
Hotel Montefiore is much pricier than Hotel 75: the extra buys personal service, 25-square-meter Classic rooms and destination dining, not silence or beachfront access. Ink Hotel offers attentive boutique service at a mid-priced rate. Montefiore’s premium is harder to justify if you mainly need somewhere comfortable between market visits and nights out. Typical rates with Axel here run from $160 a night at Hotel 75 by Prima Hotels to $471 at Hotel Montefiore (last 30 days).
