Axel's take on Konyaaltı Beach: #4 of 6 in Antalya, 6.1/10
The best beach-and-city compromise for an independent holiday. Konyaaltı wins on waterfront character and offers solid hotels, but weaker value and bus-dependent sightseeing keep it below the central and clifftop options.
Konyaaltı is the strongest choice when swimming and ordinary city life should share the holiday. The long, mostly pebbly beach comes with a promenade, cafés and residential streets rather than an uninterrupted wall of resorts. Beach Park adds a livelier waterfront outing, while the neighbourhood supports meals outside your accommodation.
Most beachfront addresses still need a bus or taxi for Kaleiçi, so this is not an Old Town stay with swimming attached. Pebbles may disappoint sandcastle-age children, and waterfront activity does not guarantee quiet rooms. Antalya Museum remains closed to visitors; don’t make that an assumed attraction of staying nearby. Choose Konyaaltı for beach routines and outdoor exercise rather than a history-heavy weekend.
- Best for: families, sports fans
- Skip it if: You want sandy beach play; You want to walk to Old Town sights every day
- Getting around: Walk or cycle the seafront; KL08 serves Atatürk Bulvarı and central Antalya; from AYT take T1A into town then a bus, or a taxi.
- After dark: Expect promenade walks and restaurant evenings; locals recommend streets away from the main roads when quiet matters.
- Rates: Typical Axel rate $136 a night · usually 6% under the public rate

Where to look in Konyaaltı Beach
- Beach Park edge. Restaurants, beach clubs and promenade activity suit sociable beach breaks; evening music makes this less compelling for early nights. Hotels here: Rixos Downtown Antalya Hotel, Hotel SU & Aqualand.
- Konyaaltı Kent Meydanı. The square links beach walks with restaurants and everyday city life; useful for independent evenings outside the hotel. Hotels here: Sealife Family Resort Hotel.
- Akdeniz Bulvarı, Gürsu stretch. Promenade walks, restaurants and the pebble shore suit a repeatable beach routine rather than a history-heavy city break. Hotels here: Megasaray WestBeach Antalya Hotel, Sealife Family Resort Hotel, Crowne Plaza Hotel Antalya, an IHG Hotel, Eva Boutique Hotel Spa.
How to choose
- Choose Megasaray WestBeach Antalya Hotel if you want strong all-inclusive dining, spacious rooms and family entertainment.
- Choose Pearly Hotel if you want a cheaper independent beach base and substantial breakfast, without needing a pool.
- Choose Rixos Downtown Antalya Hotel if you will use the gardens, resort facilities and included Land of Legends admission and transfers.
What paying more buys
Pearly Hotel is cheaper than most here, with beach access across the road but no pool. Megasaray WestBeach adds all-inclusive dining, pools and children’s activities. Rixos Downtown is one of the pricier picks for gardens, resort facilities and Land of Legends access, not fresher bedrooms. Independent beachgoers who eat out may get little benefit from the resort premium. Typical rates with Axel here run from $79 a night at Pearly Hotel to $327 at Rixos Downtown Antalya Hotel (last 30 days).
