Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong family all-inclusive, but not the place for quiet luxury. a large five-star all-inclusive beachfront resort built around families, scored for what it is.

Adalya Elite Lara is a large five-star beachfront all-inclusive that makes most sense for families wanting plenty to do without leaving the resort. We'd put it firmly on the shortlist: recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, helpful staff and plentiful food. Pools, summer waterslides, a kids' club and evening shows give it substance beyond the all-inclusive label.

The trade-off is bustle rather than intimate luxury. Recent Expedia and HolidayCheck guests flag sound travelling between rooms and corridors, while poolside sunbed competition also crops up. Food choice earns more praise than criticism, though some returning guests find it repetitive. Check seasonal facilities before booking, and don't assume every restaurant is included: the hotel limits complimentary à la carte dining. We'd skip it for a hushed couples' escape.

  • Best for: families with children; activity-filled beach holidays; travelers who prefer staying on resort

  • Watch out for: room and corridor noise; competition for poolside sunbeds; seasonal facilities and à la carte restrictions

  • Location: Direct beachfront in Lara/Kundu, convenient for airport transfers rather than a city-center stay.

  • Rooms: Spacious and generally comfortable; sound insulation draws complaints across recent sources.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength, with repeated praise for rooms and well-maintained public areas.

  • Service: Mostly warm and attentive, with occasional reports of uneven drinks service and problem handling.

  • Amenities: Multiple pools, summer aquaparks, kids' club, spa and entertainment; winter offerings are reduced.

  • Fees and surprises: One complimentary à la carte visit for stays of seven nights or more, reservation required; seafood dining and room service cost extra.
