Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong family all-inclusive, but not the place for quiet beachfront luxury. a large, five-star all-inclusive family resort set back from the beach, scored for what it is.

Aska Lara is a large, five-star all-inclusive family resort whose strongest selling point is how much there is for children to do. We'd choose it for an activity-packed holiday rather than refined luxury: pools, Wet’n Wild waterpark and kids’ entertainment give families plenty of variety. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, helpful staff and the generous food selection, although enthusiasm for buffet quality varies.

The layout is the main catch: the hotel is set back from the sea, with the beach and waterpark reached by a free shuttle or a walk across the road. School-holiday crowds, noisy dining rooms and imperfect sound insulation also recur in feedback. À la carte dinners cost extra, and some restaurants close in winter. We'd skip it for a peaceful couples’ escape or effortless room-to-beach access.

  • Best for: families with children; waterpark and pool enthusiasts; activity-packed all-inclusive holidays

  • Watch out for: beach and waterpark separate from main hotel; school-holiday crowds and noise; à la carte charges and seasonal dining closures

  • Location: Set back from the private beach; a free shuttle connects the main hotel with the beach and waterpark area.

  • Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, but some guests report tired details and weak sound insulation.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across guest feedback, including recent family stays.

  • Service: Frequently praised as friendly and hardworking, though busy periods bring queues and uneven attention.

  • Amenities: Extensive family facilities include pools, Wet’n Wild, kids’ activities, a gym and spa.

  • Fees and surprises: À la carte dining and spa treatments cost extra; several dining venues close in winter.
