#5 of 6 hotels in Sandestin by Axel's take. Sandestin is #5 of 5 places to stay in Destin. The best hotels in Sandestin, ranked · Where to stay in Destin

Axel's take: 8.4/10

A practical, spacious base for longer stays, but not a beachfront escape. a 3-star extended-stay hotel with kitchens near Grand Boulevard’s shops, scored for what it is.

This 3-star all-suite hotel is a strong pick for families and longer stays who want useful comforts rather than resort polish. Full kitchens, complimentary breakfast and free parking make it an easy base, with Grand Boulevard’s restaurants and shops within walking distance. Marriott describes the suites as renovated, and recent Booking.com and Expedia guests frequently praise clean rooms and friendly staff. The outdoor pool and hot tub add appeal.

The trade-offs are uneven upkeep and a location away from the sand. Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews repeatedly flag worn or dirty common-area carpets, while breakfast replenishment also draws complaints. These concerns temper an otherwise strongly positive guest picture. Marriott currently posts a Road Access Upgrade notice with alternate driving directions. We’d choose it for space and convenience, but skip it for a walk-out beach holiday or consistently polished surroundings.

Best for: families wanting kitchen-equipped suites; longer stays with a car; travelers prioritizing nearby shopping and dining
Watch out for: not beachfront; uneven common-area upkeep; road-access notice and alternate directions
Location: Walkable Grand Boulevard shopping and dining; beaches require a separate trip.
Rooms: Spacious kitchen-equipped suites; Marriott advertises renovations, though some guests still report wear.
Cleanliness: Room cleanliness earns substantial praise, but common-area carpet complaints recur across sites.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength; housekeeping is scheduled every other day.
Amenities: Outdoor pool, whirlpool, gym, sport court, guest laundry and included hot breakfast.
Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary; pets incur a nonrefundable fee and have limits. Check Marriott’s alternate arrival directions.
