Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong social base with excellent facilities, tiny rooms and several paid extras. a large, modern budget hostel near Copenhagen Central Station, scored for what it is.

Next House is a large, modern budget hostel, not a conventional hotel, and it's a strong pick for travelers who want company without sacrificing the basics. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Hostelworld feedback reinforces its appeal for solo travelers. Central Station and Tivoli are an easy walk away, while organized activities, rooftop spaces and an indoor sports court give you plenty to do without heading out.

The compromise is personal space: dorms and private rooms are compact, bathrooms are tight, and recent guests on several sites flag limited luggage room. Common areas can feel crowded and noisy rather than intimate. Kitchen access, the gym and luggage storage cost extra. We'd choose it for a short, sociable Copenhagen trip, but skip it if you want spacious accommodation or a quiet, small-hostel atmosphere.

  • Best for: solo travelers looking to meet people; budget-conscious city breaks; friends who enjoy organized activities

  • Watch out for: compact rooms and tight bathrooms; busy, sometimes noisy common areas; extra charges for kitchen, gym and luggage storage

  • Location: Around 500 meters from Central Station, with Tivoli and central sights within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Comfortable pod-style bunks and private rooms, but little spare floor or luggage space.

  • Cleanliness: Generally strong guest feedback across sites, including recent praise for clean rooms and facilities.

  • Service: Helpful staff are a recurring strength; self-service check-in is available.

  • Amenities: Rooftop spaces, bars, communal kitchen, gym, cinema, games and an indoor sports court.

  • Fees and surprises: Kitchen, gym, breakfast, laundry and luggage storage are paid extras; bring a padlock for your dorm locker.
