Axel's take: 8.1/10

A practical budget base with friendly staff, free parking and deliberately simple rooms. A no-frills budget hotel in Cleveland’s Midtown, scored for what it is.

This is a no-frills budget hotel, not a full-service Hilton, and it makes a strong case for short Cleveland stays. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Free parking and hot breakfast add useful value, while the colorful lobby offers space to work or unwind. We'd shortlist it for Cleveland Clinic visits or Agora shows, especially with a car.

The main compromises are the minimalist rooms and the setting. Guests report little enclosed storage and no in-room microwave or coffeemaker; shared lobby facilities fill some gaps. Midtown isn't downtown, nearby dining is limited, and some guests feel uncomfortable walking around the surrounding blocks. Hilton also confirms the parking isn't secured. We'd skip it for a walk-everywhere city break or an extended stay requiring kitchen facilities.

• Best for: Cleveland Clinic visitors with a car; Agora concertgoers; Budget-conscious short stays

• Watch out for: Minimal room storage and appliances; Limited nearby dining and walkability; Parking is not secured

• Location: Midtown base convenient for the Clinic and Agora; downtown sightseeing generally requires transportation.

• Rooms: Simple rooms with mini-fridges and comfortable beds; guests note no closets, drawers or in-room microwaves.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise, including in recent Expedia reviews.

• Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, a fitness room, lobby games and an outdoor fire pit.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary but unsecured; pets incur a nonrefundable fee, and there is no airport shuttle.
