Axel's take: 3.4/10

The Lakewood location cannot make up for recurring cleanliness and maintenance failures. a basic 2-star budget motel in Lakewood, scored for what it is.

This basic 2-star motel in Lakewood falls short even of modest budget expectations. Its useful location near Lake Erie, free parking and free Wi-Fi are genuine advantages, but we'd look elsewhere. Expedia and Booking.com show very low overall guest ratings, while Tripadvisor and Hotels.com reviews repeatedly describe dirty rooms, stained bedding and neglected maintenance. These are not simply complaints about dated decor.

Some guests report helpful staff or an acceptable short stay, but recent accounts through October 2026 still describe smoke smells, missing towels and rooms that look worse than the photos. Reports of faulty door locks are particularly concerning. We'd skip it for families, longer visits or anyone needing dependable cleanliness and a restful night. The location alone is not enough to recommend it.

• Best for: Travelers needing this exact Lakewood location; Drivers prioritizing free parking over comfort

• Watch out for: Repeated dirty-room and stained-bedding reports; Smoke smells, including in non-smoking rooms; Poor maintenance and reported door-lock problems

• Location: Convenient for Lakewood and driving into Cleveland; near Lake Erie, not directly on the beach.

• Rooms: Basic accommodation with recurring reports of worn fixtures, smoke smells and misleading photos.

• Cleanliness: A defining weakness: dirty bathrooms, carpets and bedding recur across review sites.

• Service: Some staff receive praise, but unhelpful responses and refund difficulties also recur.

• Amenities: Wyndham confirms free coffee, Wi-Fi and parking; do not assume a breakfast buffet is included.

• Fees and surprises: Pet and rollaway-bed charges apply; confirm room type because smoking rooms are sold.
