Axel's take: 8.5/10

A dependable University Circle base, with caring staff and extra costs for the basics. a comfortable 3-star hotel in Cleveland’s university and hospital district, scored for what it is.

This 3-star Courtyard is a strong pick for Case Western visits, University Hospitals appointments and museum weekends. Its biggest strengths are practical: a walkable University Circle location, comfortable rooms and staff repeatedly praised for helping families through stressful hospital stays. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests broadly agree on cleanliness and welcoming service; spacious rooms also earn good mentions.

The trade-offs are mostly about what isn’t included. On-site parking is paid valet only, breakfast costs extra, and Marriott lists housekeeping every other day rather than daily. Some Tripadvisor guests also mention dim room lighting. You’re paying for convenience more than extensive facilities. We’d choose it for campus or hospital access, but look elsewhere if included breakfast, self-parking or a downtown location matter most.

• Best for: University Hospitals patients and families; Case Western visitors; Museum-focused weekends

• Watch out for: Paid valet-only parking; Breakfast costs extra; Every-other-day housekeeping

• Location: Walkable to Case Western, University Hospitals, museums and nearby restaurants; not downtown.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and spacious, with mini-fridges; some guests find the lighting dim.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest reviews and booking-site category scores.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff earn repeated praise, particularly from hospital visitors.

• Amenities: Bistro, bar, 24-hour gym and outdoor terrace; current official listings do not advertise a pool.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking and breakfast cost extra; Marriott specifies housekeeping every other day.
