Axel's take: 8.3/10

A comfortable downtown splurge, though service doesn’t always match the Ritz-Carlton name. a full-service luxury hotel connected to downtown Cleveland’s Tower City, scored for what it is.

This downtown luxury hotel is a strong pick for travelers wanting comfortable rooms and easy access to Cleveland’s sports venues. Its Tower City connection is genuinely useful, and the substantial fitness center, saunas and TURN Bar + Kitchen give it more substance than a prestigious name alone. Expedia guests consistently praise cleanliness and staff, while Tripadvisor reviewers also highlight comfortable beds and the Club Lounge.

The catch is consistency at luxury expectations. Several 2025–2026 reviews describe slow check-in, uneven valet attention and service that feels friendly rather than anticipatory, although the overall guest picture remains strongly positive. Valet parking costs extra, and Club access requires an upgraded booking—even for Bonvoy elites. There’s no pool. We’d choose it for a comfortable downtown occasion, not a resort-style escape or guaranteed flawless five-star service.

• Best for: sports fans seeking an upscale stay; downtown business travelers; couples celebrating an occasion

• Watch out for: uneven check-in and valet service; no swimming pool; paid valet and Club-access upgrades

• Location: Connected to Tower City, with convenient access to downtown sports venues and rail transit.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and well appointed; some recent guests question the luxury finish and bedding consistency.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength, supported by strong Expedia scores and repeated guest praise.

• Service: Often warm and helpful, but recurring arrival-service lapses fall short of luxury expectations.

• Amenities: Strong 24-hour gym, saunas, restaurant and paid-access Club Lounge; no pool.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking and pets incur charges; Bonvoy elite status does not include Club access.
